Belkin has announced that it will issue a voluntary recall for the “portable wireless charger + special edition stand” which has been sold in Apple stores and online. As first reported by the Edge, the Belkin Wireless Charger is being recalled due to fire and electric shock hazards.
Belkin says it will issue a refund to all affected users. The problem is said to be caused by a “manufacturing defect in the power supply,” which can cause the accessory to malfunction and overheat.
Belkin has initiated a voluntary recall of all units of the Belkin Portable Wireless Charger + Special Edition Bracket, WIZ003, and will offer a full refund to all buyers. A manufacturing defect in the power supply can cause the charger to malfunction and overheat, posing a risk of fire and electric shock.
Belkin goes on to write that “if you have purchased” this accessory, “it is important that you immediately stop using it, unplug it from all power, and contact us for further instructions.”
At this time, Belkin states that “no injuries or property damage have been reported due to this defect. Only chargers sold between July 2020 and October 2020 are affected by the recall. Affected serial numbers include the following ranges, Belkin says:

The Belkin WIZ003 wireless charger features a 2 in 1 power bank and charging stand. It allows you to charge your iPhone at home placed on a vertical stand or with the 10,000mAh battery while on the go.
