Bella Hadid looks back on her time as a model.
The 24-year-old star appeared on the cover of Vogue’s September issue with several other young modeling stars and explained what it was like for her when she launched her career.
Hadid first experienced success when she was just 17 and said she struggled to balance a public figure with her own personality.
“It’s like there are two Bellas – me, that person finding out who she is, and ‘Bella Hadid’ the alter ego, who was, I don’t know, a sexbot that comes out every night. ? ” she explained.

Bella Hadid said that during her early days as a model, she felt she had to project the image of a “sexbot”.

Hadid said her “insane social anxiety” kept her from partying to maintain such an image.
“… I felt tremendous pressure to project this image because I thought that was all people wanted from me,” she added. “Now I don’t want to live in this box. I really feel like I have the right to speak.”

Fortunately, alongside her new found autonomy, the model has found a way to express her emotions by writing poems.
“It’s a way of understanding my emotions without it being total nonsense,” she explained.

Hadid is part of modeling royalty as she is the daughter of Yolanda Hadid who toured the world for several years before settling in with real estate developer Mohamed Hadid. Yolanda, 57, has since appeared on a number of reality shows, including “Making a Model with Yolanda Hadid” and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”.

Additionally, Bella’s sister, Gigi, 26, is a model. The two have worked together on several occasions, even strutting down the runway in matching outfits.

Their brother, Anwar, 22, also dipped his toe into the modeling game. Last year he appeared in his girlfriend Dua Lipa’s music video for a remix of the song “Levitating” with Madonna and Missy Elliott.
