Hammer was embroiled in a social media scandal last week after alleged direct messages surfaced hinting at misconduct on the part of the actor. Some of the actor’s posts, which appeared to be flirtatious, implied that he was into BDSM practices and had a cannibalistic fetish.

While few celebrities have spoken on the rumors, actor Thorne defended Hammer on Instagram Thursday, January 14.

“Honestly I can’t believe this … people are crazy faking that kind of shit, this poor guy and his kids like to leave him and his family alone [sic]», Wrote the young man of 23 years.

“No way it’s a scary CANNIBAL… ..”

Thorne also hinted that the posts going around were “fake”, adding, “There are also a million fake screenshots.”

On Wednesday (January 13), Hammer shared a statement as it was revealed that her role alongside Jennifer Lopez in Shotgun wedding would be recast.

“I’m not responding to these bullshit assertions ***, but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a movie in the Dominican Republic, Hammer said in a statement.

“Lionsgate supports me in this area and I am grateful to them.”

Hammer’s other upcoming film projects include The billion dollar spy, as well as a planned sequel to Call me by your name.
