Aaron Pico can add another win to his CV after a breathtaking Bellator 252 win.

The 24-year-old prospect teamed up with a hellish right of passage that turned the head of opponent John de Jesus in a violent movement before the fight was over seconds later. The end came at 4:12 in the second round as Pico goes 7-3 overall in his career.

Afterwards, Pico paid tribute to his coaches at the famous Jackson-Winkeljohn Academy in New Mexico where he worked for his last fights.

“When I first went to Albuquerque I was broken,” Pico said. “They rebuilt me. I was broken. I didn’t really tell them but I think they knew.

Before the knockout, Pico had punished de Jesus throughout the first round after landing an early teardown and then just unloading with the ground and the pound. There were a few moments where it emerged that Pico could put Jesus aside, but the fight continued in the second round.

From there, Pico started to focus more on his strike and it turned out that he was anticipating a particular combination of de Jesus that his coaches captured while watching past videos of his performances. Once Pico heard Jesus’ corner call for that round of punches, he unleashed the overhand right that led to the finish.

As soon as Pico’s punch landed, de Jesus was almost lifted off his feet before falling to the ground. Pico delivered a few more punches before the ref rushed to stop the fight.

Pico is now 3-0 in his last three fights since working for Jackson-Winkeljohn’s side and the sky remains the limit for the former Olympic wrestling prospect.
