Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson said on Friday he had been “desperately ill” from COVID-19, but was now “out of the woods”, in an update on his condition .
Carson tested positive for the virus earlier this month and, at the time, his office said he was in a good mood. But in a Facebook post on Friday, he said he was initially “extremely sick” and took Oleander 4X and saw improvement.

“However, I have several co-morbidities and after a brief period of only experiencing minor discomfort, the symptoms accelerated and I became hopelessly ill,” he said. “President Trump was monitoring my condition and clearing me for monoclonal antibody treatment he had already received which I am sure saved my life.
“President Trump, the fabulous White House medical team, and Walter Reed’s phenomenal doctors have paid very close attention to my health and I believe I’m out of the woods at this point,” he said.
Carson, 69, has been secretary of HUD since 2017. He was also appointed to the Trump administration’s coronavirus task force to handle the pandemic.

In the message, he said he wanted the United States to prioritize “comparable treatment and care for everyone as soon as possible.”
Separately, he warned against those who sound the alarm by saying that shortcuts have been taken on the path to a vaccine, saying such a claim “only serves to stir up fear”.
“Together we will be victorious. God is always in charge, ”he said.

Carson is one of several administration and White House officials who tested positive for the virus. President Trump tested positive last month.
Donald Trump Jr. confirmed to Fox News on Friday evening that he tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this week and is now in quarantine.
At least seven US senators have so far tested positive for the coronavirus, all Republicans. The House also saw 28 members who tested positive, including 19 Republicans, as well as nine Democrats.
