Platt's first solo album, "Sing to Me Place", was released on March 29 and will be touring solo in May. The tour will visit Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Austin, Irving, Texas, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
SING TO ME INSTEAD marks the first recorded release of Platt since his superb duet with Lin-Manuel Miranda in March 2018 on "Found / Tonight". The title – which debuted at # 1 in Billboard's digital song sales – was an episode of Miranda's "Hamildrop" series. Found "from Cher Evan Hansen.
Prior to "Found / Tonight", Platt played as the lead singer of ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING (DEAR EVAN HANSEN), Atlantic Records' award-winning Grammy® award-winning comedian for the award-winning musical Tony®. One of the seven albums in the distribution to be in the top 20 of the Billboard 200 over the last 50 years, the record made a memorable debut when it first released in February 2017, entering the Billboard 200 at the 8th place – the highest position for an original cast album since 1961, and the second highest start of digital sales for a casting album.
Platt received a Grammy® Award for his role in DEAR EVAN HANSEN (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING), as well as a 2018 Daytime Emmy Award for his participation in the powerful performance of NBC's "You Will Be Found" in TODAY . His growing oeuvre also includes memorable roles in The Book of Mormon, an award-winning Tony® Award on Broadway, and in the hit movies Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, among many others. Platt will then lead the highly anticipated cast of the highly anticipated new series The Politician, produced by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan (Glee), along with Jessica Lange, Gwyneth Paltrow and Zoey Deutch. Co-executive produced by Platt, The Politician will be airing later this year on Netflix. He will also play in the upcoming "Run This Town" films – presented for the first time at this year's SXSW film festival – and "Broken Diamonds".
