After the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati wide receiver Tyler Boyd called the Steelers saying they quit at the end of the game. Strong words from a guy who played college football in Pittsburgh.
But Boyd doesn’t back down. In fact, after his post-game comments got everyone talking, the Bengals star took to Twitter to double down on his comments. Boyd has been playing against the Steelers since 2016, so he has a great outlook on this team.
Boyd noted that he only had respect for the team, but said that every time he played against the Steelers he had never seen a Steelers team end up like this.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday he didn’t care about Boyd’s opinion. But you can bet players have seen this. At least I hope they did. And I hope that drives them crazy. This team needs to play with an advantage and at the moment they are not. If some critics give the Steelers an advantage, maybe they can turn the tide.
In all my years playing in the Steelers, I’ve never seen them end up like this and I only have respect for them, but what I understand doesn’t need to be explained.
