Senator Bernie Sanders joined "The Daily Show" with Trevor Noah to discuss his emergence as a favorite of the 2020 Democratic presidency, the nominee squad, and his mayor next week on FOX News.

TREVOR NOAH: You are really in touch with many groups. young people, people of color. And what's really interesting to me is that you recently decided to hold a public meeting of FOX News, even though the DNC decided not to participate in any of its discussions with FOX News. You break with this line of thought. Some will say that do you do with FOX News, they are not a legitimate press organization. So what are you doing here?

BERNIE SANDERS: Trust me, I know FOX News. I know who they are and I know what role they play.

However, during the last campaign, I met in town a fellow named Bret Baier, who did it very equitably. He did it directly. Believe me, we have already revised the rules of the game and they have kept their word.

For me, it's important to distinguish "FOX News" from millions of people watching Fox News. And I think it's important to talk to these people and tell them, you know what? I know that many of you voted for Donald Trump, but he lied to you. He told you, for example, that he was going to provide health care to all people. Now, he wants to expel 30 million people from their health care. He told you that he was going to give tax reform that would not benefit the rich. 83% of profits go to the top 1%.

I think it's important to talk to Trump's supporters and explain to them how much he betrayed the working class of this country and lied during his campaign.
