In 2016, Bernie Sanders launched what he called a "revolution" as an independent candidate. He went to the US presidency on a platform of progressive ideas such as free health care for all, but eventually lost the Democratic nomination for the benefit of ## 147 ## ################################################################################# Hillary Clinton.

Aged 77, he tries a second attempt and launches his campaign to be Democratic candidate in 2020. He thinks he always has what it takes to win the victory at the White House.

He described Donald Trump as the most dangerous president of modern American history.

The list of the Democratic primary looks very crowded and one of the most diverse of all time. So far, at least 12 candidates have confirmed their candidacy – dozens of others still have to decide.

There is already a record number of women, large age differences between candidates and ethnic minorities.

But does any of them have what it takes to deal with Trump?
