This story is part of Holiday gift guide 2020, CNET’s Gift Picks with expert advice, reviews and recommendations for the latest tech gifts for you and your family.
This year, like everything else, Black friday and Cyber Monday will be different. Large retailers such as Walmart and Best buy are launching sales earlier than ever this holiday season, spreading them over the days and weeks before Black friday itself (technically November 27 this year), and most importantly focusing on online orders and contactless curbside pickup to maintain social distancing. The last sale of this type is at Walmart and starts today, November 11, at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
No matter where or how you shop, this is the best time of year to get an amazing deal on a TV. Below are all best Black Friday TV deals we know about right now if you’re in the market for a new TV (for yourself or as a gift!). Note that prices and inventory are subject to change without notice, but were accurate at time of posting.

First up, this Fire TV edition of Insignia. Recently it sold for $ 150, but Best Buy just cut the price by $ 50. We don’t like Amazon’s Fire TV as much as Roku because the Fire TV menus push Amazon’s content too much and are more confusing in general compared to the simplicity of Roku TV, but it’s a great price.

If for some reason 39 inches is too big or you just prefer to buy your $ 100 Fire TV from Amazon, that 32 inch is the same price. Like the larger Insignia above, it has Alexa built in and pairs well with an Echo Dot (pictured). That price is $ 30 cheaper than the equivalent of the 32-inch Roku on Amazon.
Best buy
TCL is best known for its Roku TVs, and we like the Roku smart TV system better than the Android TV version of this TV, but for that price you can just buy a Roku Streaming Stick Plus, attach it to this TV, and still go out in front. Intelligence aside, we’d expect this Series 4 TV to perform “fairly well,” as will the Roku equivalent.
Note that it was $ 50 cheaper last week, and so maybe again – but for now, it’s still a pretty good deal on a 55-inch smart TV.
Best buy
We haven’t reviewed this set, and based on its specs, we don’t expect it to match the image quality of the best 75in models, but if you prioritize a view Overall over everything else, this is the cheapest price we’ve seen. for a 70-inch TV, period. Like the TCL above, it runs Android TV.
Target
The best TV deal from Target’s first Black Friday sale is for another 70-inch TV that we haven’t reviewed. LG’s OLED sets (see below) will deliver a much better picture, but if you can’t afford a better TV and you don’t like the Hisense above, it’s still a great price.
David Katzmaier / CNET
The best TV we’ve ever reviewed is in a whole different league than the key chains on this list, but if you’re willing to pay more, this price is great and as low as all year round. It could be even lower, but not by much.
The 65-inch version is also on sale for $ 1,897. Read our review of LG’s CX series.
The best upcoming Black Friday deals
Walmart
This TV is the first item listed in Walmart’s pre-Black Friday commercial on November 11, so expect it to sell out quickly. The retailer’s Onn house brand isn’t known for its exceptional image quality, but we expect it to perform as well as the TCL 4 series (see below) and have the same excellent Roku operating system.
This 55-inch Roku TCL Smart TV will go on sale for $ 148 on November 11 from 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
Speaking of TCL, it’s the best price we’ve seen on a 55-inch TV this year. It’s basically the same as the 55S425 we loved so much, for about half the lowest price of this model ever. Once it goes on sale, we expect this TV to sell out quickly.
This 55-inch Roku TCL Smart TV will go on sale for $ 148 on November 11 from 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
Sony
We haven’t reviewed this OLED, but we expect its image quality to be similar to the LG CX above (as in: spectacular), and from November 22 at Best Buy, the size 65 inches will be $ 100 cheaper. By then, the CX might get its own price cut, but then again, that might not be.
Look for this offer from November 22.
Black Friday offers expired

We haven’t yet reviewed Vizio’s first OLED TV – the company shipped samples late due to COVID-19 – but Vizio TVs have performed well in previous reviews and that price, compared to something like the CX above, could be just as good to pass up.
As with the LG CX above, there’s also a 65-inch size on sale (again for Best Buy members only) for $ 1,500.
Note that this offer has expired (although it may return soon) and when available it was available to Best Buy members only.
