Check out the best looks of the night, which features the nominees appearing at a distance and the hosts and presenters in person, with early revelations from Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and Josh O’Connor.
The 2021 Golden Globes are a hybrid presentation tonight with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as well as presenters appearing in person at venues in Los Angeles and New York (The Beverly Hilton and The Rainbow Room), while the nominees do remote appearances, many create their own virtual red carpet moments.
Many stars are adopting an overt glamor reminiscent of pre-pandemic life as an antidote to a year of lockdowns and quarantines.
Here are the best dressed stars of the night to date:
Elle Fanning
Fanning set the elegant tone early in the evening, posting her look on Instagram, a custom mint green satin draped dress with embroidered crystal brooches, designed by Alessandro Michele for Gucci, paired with vintage diamond and platinum jewelry. by Fred Leighton, including rings and bracelets from around the 1915s and 1920s.
Amanda Seyfried
In collaboration with stylist Elizabeth Stewart, the Mank the nominee wore a custom Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim dress for Oscar de la Renta, an apricot crepe dress with a lush floral off-the-shoulder neckline. (Seyfried attends the ceremony virtually from Savannah, GA with his family). The dress is accessorized with diamonds by Forevermark, a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch and shoes by Stuart Weitzman.
Nicholas hoult
A nominee for Hulu’s Great, Hoult revealed her Golden Globes look on Sunday about five hours before the telecast began. His Instagram post shows the actor in a double-breasted velvet tuxedo trimmed with grosgrain, a black t-shirt and velvet evening slippers, all by Giorgio Armani, accessorized with a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch.
Josh o’connor
O’Connor nominated for his work as Prince Charles on Netflix The crown, adopted a new romantic vibe styled by Harry Lambert, with a custom two-button black tuxedo jacket from Loewe, paired with a white wing-collar shirt and wide leg pants from Creative Director Jonathan Anderson’s Fall / Winter 2021 collection for the Madrid label based on. On his wrist, he wore a Bulgari Octo Finissimo watch in steel with a black dial.
Angela Bassett
Bassett, one of the evening’s award presenters, opted for a feather-embellished one-shoulder eggplant crepe dress from Dolce & Gabbana, paired with jewelry from Beverly Hills designer Dena Kemp and jewelry designer. Brazilian Graziela Kaufman.
Leslie Odom Jr.
The double nominated for One night in Miami and for the song “Speak Now” the film wore Valentino from head to toe.
Andra’s Day
Day, nominated for her performance in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, is one of the actresses wearing Chanel, choosing a gray silk tulle dress from the house’s Spring / Summer 2021 haute-couture collection, with over 1000 hours of embroidered handwork, paired with diamonds from Chanel Fine Jewelry.
Jane levy
Oscar de la Renta designers worked with NBC’s first nominee Levy Zoey’s Extraordinary Reading List, to create a midnight blue dress paired with Jimmy Choo shoes and Vrai’s lab diamonds.
And Levy
Schitt Creek candidate Levy wore Valentino yellow.
Tahar Rahim
Rahim, nominated for the first time for The Mauritanian, wore Louis Vuitton.
