Best new headphones from CES 2021

I expected Anker to release a noise canceling version of his popular Liberty Air 2 earbuds last year, but the launch was apparently delayed for a few months, in part because of the global pandemic. But the Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro ($ 130, £ 130), the company’s first headphones to feature active noise canceling, are here now, debuting as part of CES 2021. Except for a small issue with the included earbuds (I had to use mine to get a waterproof seal), this is a great set of truly wireless earbuds that compare well to Apple’s AirPods Pro for a lot less money.

Here’s a look at the main features, according to Anker:

-Purenote 11 mm pilots
– Targeted active noise cancellation
-Six microphone uplink noise reduction helps optimize vocals and minimize background noise
-Two transparency modes
-HearID custom sound (via app)
-Up to six hours of battery life with ANC on (seven hours without it being turned off) and the charging case provides 15 hours of extra juice
– Port detection for auto play / pause
-Fast headphone charging: 10 minutes gives you two hours of playback
-Headphones can be worn independently.
-Customizable touch controls to set preferences for play / pause, track advance, volume, etc.
-IPX4 waterproof
– Nine sets of silicone ear tips, ranging from XXXS to XL and L Plus
-Bluetooth 5.0
-USB-C fast charging and wireless charging
-Price: $ 130
-Available now in four colors (black, white, blue and pink)
