Student discounts on fitness and entertainment

These popular music and video streaming services give you breaks on subscriptions. And Peloton has just taken the stage as well.

You don’t need a Peloton bike to take Peloton classes, which not only include cycling, but also HIIT, running, strength training, yoga and more. The Peloton app delivers all of this via phone, tablet, and most streaming devices.

The price of the regular subscription is $ 14 per month; verified students can get it for half of that. Plus, you get the first month free if you’ve never tried Peloton before.

Apple

Apple’s streaming service is already pretty affordable at $ 5 per month, but if you get an Apple Music student subscription (see below), you’ll get Apple TV Plus at no extra cost. Students can also get Spotify, Hulu, and Showtime bundled together for $ 5 per month, as described below. Ah, make decisions!

In addition to the hardware discounts (see below), Apple offers its half-price Music subscription service for students. This subscription gives you access to some 50 million songs and is available on all your Apple devices. You also get Apple TV Plus.

Youtube

Normally at $ 12 per month, YouTube Premium is a two-way deal: you get ad-free YouTube videos (including the ability to download them for offline viewing) and unlimited access to YouTube Music, which is basically the answer to YouTube to Spotify.

Do you just want YouTube Music? This service is $ 5 per month for students (regularly $ 10). Both options allow a one-month free trial if you want to test the waters first.

Amazon

Not to be confused with the Prime Music benefit, which is included with an Amazon Prime, or Prime Student membership, which you can read below. Music Unlimited is Amazon’s big library music service, which rivals Apple Music and Spotify. Anyone with a Prime Student membership can get Music Unlimited for just $ 1 per month – by far the cheapest music streaming option in the world.

Arguably the best student deal in student deal history, Spotify has a $ 5 ad-free plan that includes both Hulu (ad-supported) and Showtime. Non-students pay a minimum of $ 10, $ 6, and $ 11 per month, for a total of $ 27. That’s a lot of entertainment for $ 5.

If you already have a premium account, it’s pretty easy to upgrade to the student version. However, if you are on a family plan, check if it would be cheaper for the family to keep you on the $ 15 plan.

Hulu

If you don’t need or want Spotify or Showtime, Hulu now has a very cheap deal for students: just $ 2 per month for the standard plan (i.e. with ads) , $ 4 off the regular price.

As with most other offers of this type, all you need to do is prove your eligibility. Fortunately, this offer is good even if you are already a subscriber to Hulu. It’s not just for newcomers.

Student discounts on money management

If there’s one thing most college students could use a helping hand with, it’s money management.

You need a budget

You Need a Budget offers a host of tools and courses for this purpose. This normally costs $ 84 per year, but as a student you can get the first year absolutely free. But beware, unlike many other digital services, the only way to get this discount is to submit physical proof of registration to the business.

Financial institutions can also offer offers to students. Bank of America, for example, will waive the monthly fee if you do all your banking through its banking app and ATMs.

Wells fargo

Wells Fargo has a similar offer to Bank of America and will waive monthly fees for students aged 17-24.

Student discounts on applications and software

While you can get software at a discount from your school bookstore, you won’t do better than for free.

Microsoft

Microsoft is selling Office Home and Student for $ 149. But you can do better than that with free Office 365 Education, which gives you free access to online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams (the latter potentially useful for organizing and running group projects) and other apps. Office. All that is required is a valid school email address.

Evernote

Evernote offers students 50% off the premium version for one year. This comes down to $ 4 per month for industrial grade note taking. After that first year, however, the price drops to $ 8 per month.
