Bethesda congratulates Nintendo on launching Metroid Dread with special DOOM artwork

Unless you’ve been living under a giant boulder shaped like a Morph ball for the past few months, you probably know that Metroid Dread launched for Nintendo Switch today. It’s utterly fantastic, and you should definitely play it.

Before you did, we thought you might like to check out this special piece of art from the Bethesda team. The studio congratulated Nintendo on launching the new Metroid on social media, sharing a crisp piece of art featuring the Doom Slayer replacing Samus as the star of the box art.

Of course, Doomguy now has all the more reason to be associated with Nintendo’s own big guns after being revealed as a Mii fighter costume for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate earlier this week. Matches between the DOOM protagonist and Metroid’s Samus will soon be a real possibility – what a crazy world, eh?
