But it’s probably The Elder Scrolls Online, who knows.
Gaming giant Bethesda is teasing something Ancient scrolls-Related.
In a post on the show’s Twitter account on December 31, the company tweeted an image of a map with the caption “Write the past and map the future”. It could, of course, be just a message wishing his fans a Happy New Year, but there is also fan speculation as to what that could mean.
As spotted by Rock Paper Shotgun, the map in question is from the Skyrim region and features three lights. One is by the caption “Province of Skyrim” for the map – also in the unmapped area of Hammerfell – while the other is by the location of Solitude, the capital of Skyrim. The final light is by a stack of coins, which were apparently featured in a collectible edition of the 2020 Greymoor expansion for… The Elder Scrolls Online.
Honestly, who knows. There are probably more important things to worry about right now, like a certain global pandemic, the fact that we are literally cooking the planet or the absurd and ever-growing gap between the rich and the poor.
In short.
This might not be the The Elder Scrolls 6 teaser that many were hoping for. This title was announced at E3 2018, but Bethesda said it will be some time before we hear a lot about this brand new project.
Company boss Todd Howard says he’s made huge technical advancements in his creation engine for The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield.
Meanwhile, Bethesda has teased the next chapter of its Elder Scrolls Online MMO, which appears to be set in Oblivion.
Microsoft announced in September 2020 that it would buy Bethesda for $ 7.5 billion.
