Beverley Owen, who played Marilyn Munster in the first season of the 1960s television comedy "The Munsters," died on February 21, according to several sources. She was 81 years old.

Butch Patrick, who played child vampire Eddie Munster in the series, announced Owen's death Sunday on Facebook.
"Beautiful Beverly (sic) Owen has passed away. What a sweet soul. I had the biggest crush on her, "Patrick wrote. "RIP Bev and thank you for your 13 memorable episodes of Marilyn Munster."
Polly Stone, Owen's daughter, confirmed the death of the actress at TMZ and said she had died at her Vermont home of ovarian cancer.
Owen played Marilyn Munster for the first 13 episodes of the series in 1964, but left to marry producer-producer Jon Stone, People reported. She was replaced by Pat Priest, who played the role in the last 57 episodes of the series, according to IMDb.
Owen was born Beverley Ogg in Ottumwa, Iowa, on May 13, 1937, according to IMDb. After graduating from the University of Michigan, she moved to New York to pursue an acting career, according to the website.
She is survived by her two daughters, Polly and Kate.
