Beverley Owen, the original Marilyn of "The Munsters", dies at the age of 81


Beverley Owen, the original Marilyn Munster in "The Munsters," died at the age of 81.

She played the only "normal" member of the Munsters family for thirteen episodes in 1964, before leaving the series to get married, according to her IMDb page.

Butch Patrick, who played the friendly Eddie Munster on the 60's sitcom, confirmed his death with a Facebook message thanking her for her "13 memorable episodes of Marilyn Munster".

"The beautiful Beverly Owen has passed away. What a sweet soul. I had the biggest crush on her. RIP Bev and thank you for your 13 memorable episodes of Marilyn Munster, "he said in his message.

Her daughter, Polly Stone, told TMZ that Father Owen died on February 21 after battling ovarian cancer.

Owen began his television career in 1956 with the television series "As the World Turns".
