Beyonce and Platoon have teamed up for a multi-year deal that will feature a themed workout series paying homage to historically black colleges and universities … and the timing couldn’t be better.
Playing “Homecoming” – her iconic Coachella concert film – Beyonce helped create cycling, running, strength, boot camp, yoga and meditation classes with Peloton to commemorate the fall season annual Homecoming at HBCU. The singer was already the most requested artist among the 3.6 million members of the fitness society, so the collaboration makes perfect sense.
Plus … Bey and Peloton are offering 2-year digital subscriptions to students at 10 different HBCUs, which provide access to fitness classes through the Peloton app which can be used with or without equipment.
Along with the great partnership to come during reunion season, the timing is also huge for the company … on the stock market. As you may know, Peloton usage increased during the pandemic, but its actions took a hit on Monday with the announcement of the Pfizer vaccine … down 20%.
With the Beyonce news, stocks jumped 7% early Tuesday.
As for the Queen, she says she has been a member of the Peloton for years and is thrilled to partner with a company offering an innovative way for everyone to “become the best versions of themselves.”
She adds … “I am proud to celebrate HBCU students with this gift, to encourage them to find and embrace their own wellness regimes.”
