Beyoncé has organized a new album featuring international artists called The lion king: the gift. The album, along with the soundtrack of the film, will feature a new Beyoncé song called "Spirit," coming out tonight.
In addition to Gift, Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack of the new live action remake of The Lion King July 11th. It says "Can you feel love tonight" with Beyoncé and Donald Glover.
"It's sonic cinema," Beyoncé said of the new album in a statement. "It's a new storytelling experience. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs inspired by the movie. It's a mix of genres and collaboration that is not a sound. He is influenced by everything from R & B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.
"I wanted to put everyone in their own path to connect history," she continued. "Each song was written to reflect the narrative of the film, giving the listener the ability to imagine his own images while listening to a new contemporary interpretation. It was important that the music be performed not only by the most interesting and talented artists, but also by the best African producers. The authenticity and the heart were important to me.
In a recent interview with Fandango, director Jon Favreau said Beyoncé "played and wrote [‘Spirit’] in the spirit of production. He added that Beyoncé had composed the song with Lebo M. and Hans Zimmer. "They all collaborated with her and contributed to the integration of this new piece in a film where the musical personality is already well established. So it was good of them to work with her to allow the new song to feel organically as part of the new production. "
Beyoncé interprets Nala in the new The Lion King. The cast also includes Donald Glover (as Simba), John Oliver (as Zazu), Eric André (as Azizi, one of the hyenas), Seth Rogen (as Pumbaa) and more. The film will be released in US theaters on July 19th.
