On Sunday night, Beyoncé shared a short documentary teaser that she wrote, directed and produced. At first glance, fans will have a glimpse of the exhausting creative process, seeing the mother of three brainstorming at meetings and recording the tracks of this ambitious album in the studio.
"The Gift," which Beyoncé has described as her "Love Letter to Africa," features collaborations with industry heavyweights such as Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Pharrell Williams. while highlighting African artists such as Wizkid and Tiwa Savage, Moonchild Sanelly and Shatta Wale.
The 30-track playlist quickly eclipsed the film's soundtrack and a track – "Brown Skin Girl" – quickly became an anthem of empowerment.
Beyoncé hopes to repeat the success of her movie "Homecoming" from Netflix, which chronicles the creation and execution of her title game Coachella 2018 and has been nominated for six Emmys.
