On Wednesday night, CNN’s heavily promoted town hall event with President Biden lit up social media for all the wrong reasons, as everything from the size of the crowd to the performance of moderator Don Lemon was toast.

Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Epstein kicked off by pointing out the small crowd. “CNN was very careful not to show that no one showed up for town hall in Biden and that most of the room was empty,” radio host Mark Simone Noted.

the Bongino Report declared the event to be a “train accident”, while the president of the Media Research Center Brent Bozell called it “garbage.”

National Review editor Jack Butler criticized CNN’s “contrived” event which he said falls short of the successful town hall events of the past. Declaring that the format should be abolished, he called it a “hideous spectacle unworthy of an autonomous republic” which continues to worsen.

With help from the cutesy sparkle instilled by the format, Biden has largely skated through some sort of CliffsNotes of current events by invoking either his favorite cliché or hot topic of the moment, or a variety of emotional rhetorical devices. or ironic as he understood it, “Butler wrote.

“If CNN had any shame or respect for the citizens of an autonomous republic, the network would never broadcast any of these silly events again,” Butler added. “But don’t expect that to happen anytime soon.”

Editor-in-chief of NewsBusters Curtis Houck noted that eight Democrats were allowed to ask questions, while only three Republicans were given the opportunity.

Grabien Media founder Tom Elliott sarcastically said Biden was “crushing” him by sharing a viral video of the president struggling to answer a question. Elliott’s music video has racked up over 2.2 million views and generated a plethora of reviews. Some viewers were upset that Lemon didn’t point out Biden’s struggles, while others simply felt the whole ordeal was painful to watch.

Lemon also called Biden a “big guy” during presidential mayor.

“You’ve been the big guy for six months now in the White House. Can you take us behind the scenes, something extraordinary or unusual that happened that left its mark on you?” Lemon asked.
