Joe Biden complements his administration with key choices for his national security and foreign policy teams.
John Kerry will lead the new administration’s efforts to tackle climate change.
Alejandro Mayorkas will be appointed secretary of the internal security department.
Biden also plans to appoint Antony Blinken as Secretary of State.
Kerry is a former secretary of state, senator from Massachusetts, and Democratic presidential candidate.
Earlier Monday, Biden named two longtime Capitol Hill assistants to his legislative affairs team. Reema Dodin and Shuwanza Goff will be deputy directors of the White House legislative affairs office.

President-elect Joe Biden has named two longtime Capitol Hill assistants to his legislative affairs team.
Reema Dodin and Shuwanza Goff will be deputy directors of the White House legislative affairs office.
Dodin previously worked on the transition team, leading his legislative engagement with lawmakers on Capitol Hill. She is also deputy chief of staff and floor manager to Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, the Democratic Senate Whip.
Goff served as a Floor Manager for House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer. She helped shape the legislative agenda for House Democrats.
Dodin and Goff join Louisa Terrell, who was recently appointed director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. A dozen other senior White House officials were also announced by the president-elect.
The team will be tasked with turning Biden’s long list of campaign pledges into legislative plans and pushing them through a tightly divided House and Senate. The first and biggest concern is expected to be a major coronavirus aid and response package after Biden takes office in January.
