President Biden’s German Shepherds were returned to Delaware this week after the youngest dog, 3-year-old Major, injured a White House staff member, but the Bidens’ dog trainer told TMZ it was was a “solvable” problem that can be solved after a while of training.
“You live in a quiet house, just family and friends coming and you go from a very quiet environment to a very stressful, active environment, a lot of people you don’t know – do they like dogs? not like dogs? And the interactions range from limited to many, ”Bidens dog trainer Mark Tobin told TMZ.
“Training is the key to everything that happens,” he continued. “It’s solvable, but it takes two: you have to put in time and effort, and take it a little slower this time. … We have to put this dog in this stress, get over the stress and really try to help this dog calm down and say, ‘It’s okay, I got you.’ “

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Tuesday that the first dogs “are still getting used to and getting used to their new surroundings and new people.”
“On Monday, the youngest dog of the first family, Major, was surprised by an unknown person and reacted in a way which resulted in a minor injury to the individual, which was taken care of by the medical unit. from the White House with no further treatment needed, ”she said.

Psaki said the return trip to Delaware was planned in advance and the dogs would return to the White House soon.
The Bidens adopted Major, 3, from a shelter in 2018. Champ, 13, has been with the family since 2008.

President Biden slipped while playing with Major last November and fractured a bone in his right foot, forcing him to wear a boot for several weeks.
The puppies first moved into the White House on January 25 after spending the first days of the Biden administration in Delaware.
