Biden freezes Elizabeth Warren and rewards John Kerry with climate message

Nothing says “bold” and “change” like putting John Kerry in your closet and freezing Elizabeth Warren.

Joe Biden’s decision to make the former Massachusetts senator his climate czar is a predictable nod to climate change activists who want to see the issue take pride of place in the new White House.

It also ensures that taxpayers foot the bill for jet set millionaire Kerry to take many future junkets to Paris and Oslo and other prime places around the world. Who knows, maybe Kerry will land a trip to Antarctica.

Kerry’s appointment to a high-ranking Biden post – which the Herald first predicted several weeks ago – came the same day Biden snubbed U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren by picking the former boss of the Federal Reserve Janet Yellen as Secretary of the Treasury.

While progressives like Yellen, they put complete pressure on the court to place Warren in the Biden cabinet – an offer that now appears to have failed.

Better luck next time, Liz. Looks like the Massachusetts senator will now have to get stuck on Capitol Hill for a while in the minority party unless the Democrats somehow grab the two Senate seats in Georgia.

Kerry, meanwhile, was recognized for his long experience in the field of climate change and for his convincing support for Biden during the difficult primary campaign.

The former secretary of state traveled the country for Biden at a time when few Democrats were ready to jump on the Sleepy Joe bandwagon and it looked like Biden’s campaign was on fire.

Timing is everything in politics.

Kerry’s career – which appeared dead after she stepped down as Secretary of State – has now been entirely rejuvenated.

The decorated Vietnam War veteran narrowly missed his White House victory himself in 2004, and now, if Kerry plays his cards right, he could be considered a potential candidate in 2024 – assuming Biden doesn’t. fulfills only one mandate.

Kerry, at just 76, is a spring chicken compared to Biden.

Not only does he secure the post of plum climate tsar, but he will also serve on the National Security Council, a post the only other climate tsar under President Obama, Carol Browner, has ever had.

“This is the first time that the NSC will include a dedicated climate change official, reflecting the president-elect’s commitment to addressing climate change as an urgent national security issue,” Biden’s transition team said.

Then in the Massachusetts Biden team – US Representative Joseph P. Kennedy III and former Governor Deval Patrick.

Patrick is said to be on a list of potential Justice Department positions and Kennedy is likely to get a feel for a job in the Biden administration because, frankly, he needs a job.

Kennedy’s devastating loss to U.S. Senator Edward Markey this year forced him to play a returning role. And if he wishes, Kennedy – whose family has long been close to the Bidens – will likely be offered a job in the near future.
