Biden raises eyebrows as he claims he ‘drives’ an 18-wheeled truck

Forty-eight-year-old political veteran President Biden raised eyebrows on Wednesday when he claimed to have driven an 18-wheeler truck – a claim the White House has struggled to defend.

Biden was visiting a Mack truck factory in Pennsylvania when he claimed to have driven the huge trucks, which require a special type of permit.

“I was driving an 18 wheeler, man,” Biden said Wednesday in a video posted to Twitter. “I’ve got to.”

There is little evidence that Biden ever drove an 18-wheel truck.

When asked if the president had ever driven such a truck, a White House spokesperson pointed to a December 1973 item from the Wilmington Evening Journal which showed Biden rode in an 18 wheeler on a 536 mile trip to Ohio.

Fox News pressed the spokesperson for the president’s assertion – noting that getting in a truck is not the same as driving one – at which point the president’s spokesperson pointed out a United Federation of Teachers Publish who hit Biden while driving a school bus in the past as a summer job.

The majority of school buses, on average, “have two axles, with the larger models having two wheels on the front axle and four wheels on the dual axle, for a total of six wheels,” according to SchoolBusFleet.com.

Fox News again insisted on the president’s request, pointing out that a school bus is not the same as an 18-wheeler truck, but has not received a response at the time of publication.
