President Biden this week revoked several executive orders issued by Donald Trump, including one calling for a review of funding for so-called “anarchist” cities.
Biden issued an executive order on Wednesday evening to cancel the review, which was issued in response to violent and destructive riots that took place in several cities.
Cities designated by the Justice Department as anarchists included New York, Portland, and Seattle. The affected municipalities have filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for its attempts to withhold federal funding.
At the time, the Justice Department said those towns had failed to take “reasonable steps to counter criminal activity.”

He cited statistics that showed a 166% increase in shootings in New York City during the month of August, 100 consecutive nights of chaotic protests in Portland and a 525% increase in person-related crime in Seattle. (CHOP) zone.
Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes hailed Biden’s dismissal, saying he was “glad this nonsense is wiped off the decks.”

Biden also revoked a 2018 order calling on government agency heads to review wellness programs – such as food stamps, Medicaid and housing assistance – and to increase work requirements for some beneficiaries.
