WASHINGTON — President Biden met with CEOs of United Airlines Holdings Inc. and Kaiser Permanente on Wednesday to encourage more companies to follow their example and demand that workers get vaccinated against Covid-19.

Businesses and the university have all said staff need to be vaccinated, and Howard is also demanding that students get vaccinated. Mr Biden pointed to the four as a role model for other leaders in the private sector as officials rush to get more Americans vaccinated and slow the spread of the highly transmissible Delta variant, which has triggered an increase in cases and hospitalizations across the country.
He also asked attendees to tell others in their industries about the steps they have taken and to encourage more action to increase vaccination rates, according to the White House statement.
A White House official said the attendees reflected four industries – large corporations, small businesses, healthcare providers, colleges and universities – that the administration sees as pillars for vaccinating the United States against the virus.
