Big E gets new entry and theme, Pat Patterson Tribute Match on WWE SmackDown

WWE hosted a Pat Patterson Tribute Match this week on SmackDown on Friday night. It was Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio and Big E against Dolph Ziggler, Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn.

Big E had a new musical theme and he recalled his old entry when he slapped his hands with chalk. The original Intercontinental title which was introduced in 1979 was placed at ringside for this match.

Babyfaces won after several streaks near fall that may be reminiscent of some of the Ricky Steamboat-Randy Savage roll-ups from WrestleMania III. It was a great game and a great tribute to Patterson.

E, Mysterio and Bryan pulled out their heels after the game. Ziggler took the finishers from all three.
