Big E changed his luck on Monday evening gross when he cashed in his Money In The Bank contract to become the new WWE Champion.
After his tantalizing cashout, Big E met the WWE panel The bump to discuss his victory and how he feels just 48 hours away.
“I always try to get back to everyone. Everyone has been amazing, absurdly nice, ”said Big E after his title win. “But yeah, I’m still waiting to get back to some sense of normalcy, and it’s not happening yet.”
With so many men vying to become the next WWE Champion, Big E realizes he has multiple goals on his back. But with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston back by his side, he doesn’t feel so alone in this fight.
“I want to be among the best and thrown into the lion’s den,” Big E said of his future competitors on the RAW brand. “We also have the draft which is around the corner. The players and the number of guys who could fight for it, the list goes on. I’m excited.
“Even beyond that, there is also The Bloodline. Also you know, Shelton [Benjamin] and Cédric [Alexander] are still there. The Hurt Business was one of my favorite factions. You know, there are a lot of opportunities for us to do some really cool stuff now that The New Day is back. “
Winning the WWE Championship on the Red Mark meant a lot to Big E. Not only because he stood on top of WWE Mountain, but because he was able to reunite with Woods and Kingston. While they are still chatting off-camera and having a podcast together, Big E said it just isn’t the same to function without seeing teammates.
“Obviously, we talk endlessly about our love for each other, our fellowship and its authenticity. And I miss those guys a lot, ”said Big E of the difficulty separating from Woods and Kingston after last year’s draft. “Of course, we’re connected to the podcast and we see each other via Zoom, but it’s not the same. It’s not like I haven’t seen them at all, but man, we belong in the scene. We have to be skin to skin. You know, meat to meat.
“I guess what we want to represent and show people too is that you can be happy for your friends. We can all win and we can all see success in our lives and in our careers. “
Continuing the conversation on his singles performed on Smack down, Big E mentions how grateful he was to work for the blue brand. But more than ever, he’s eager to rebuild The New Day again.
“I think what I learned was not that I didn’t need it, but I learned that I would be fine on my own,” Big E said of his biggest advantage. working away from Woods and Kingston. “Coming out of the gorilla and entering the ramp I’m so used to them being my comfort blanket. It’s nice to know that I might not need them, but I like knowing that they are there.
“I was kind of forced into the fire. And now that that safety net is gone, you’re right here and you have to prove yourself. I was glad I had the opportunity. We got to a point where we realized this was the situation; we cannot change anything. It was therefore important for us to make the most of it. I think these guys did an amazing job as well.
Within minutes of his historic victory, not only were fans ecstatic with Big E’s victory, but his colleagues behind the scenes as well. He described how the atmosphere was once he stepped through the curtain.
“When I came back through the curtain, I expected it wouldn’t be very crowded, because, you know, it was after 11 o’clock. everyone, just seeing it filled with my peers and everyone was standing and clapping. Obviously that was the best. But that’s not why you do what you do. But get love of your peers is something I’m very proud of. Dude, everyone has been extremely positive and kind.
