Kelley returned to network TV last night after a stint on cable and streaming platforms – Amazon Goliath, HBO Big little lies, the audience network Mr. Mercedes—With ABC Big sky, a mystery with a marketing blitz that teases some kind of big shock, a probably best appreciated intact. (Read more about this in our review of the first.)

Sadly, anyone who has seen Tuesday morning’s edition of Hello america living did not have this pleasure. During a conversation with chefs Ryan Phillippe, Katheryn Winnick, and Kylie Bunbury, the latter just went ahead and spoiled the big twist on the premiere.: this ostensible protagonist Phillippe bites the big one at the end of the episode.

After his co-stars conscientiously and carefully dance around the “shocking” nature of the premiere, Bunbury lets go. “[I’m] really excited ABC is taking a chance like this, to kill a star like Ryan, ”she hinted, oblivious to the appearance of the flat discomfort forming on his co-starof face. Winnick, offering a panicked laugh, yells “spoiler!” before trying to rotate the conversation, but Bunbury is moving forward. “I can’t believe I just messed up this,” she said. Phillippe’s painful smile with thin lips says it all.

The spoiler was edited on segment online clips, but you can watch the slip here (as long as he doesn’t get cleaned by ABC). It’s worth watching, if only to marvel at how casually she says it. Was she on it phone when Mr. ABC said, “Have fun and remember: Don’t say Ryan is dying“?

Now that the cat is out of the bag, Phillippe is overjoyed to talk about his untimely death. “It’s a very daring thing to have one of the lead actors, who is heavily featured in marketing, come out in the first episode,” he Told USA today. “It sets the bar for the danger lurking in the series and the fact that no one is safe. It’s going to create even more tension and commitment on the part of the audience to lean in and really focus on what’s going on.

If no one is safe, it’s Bunbury then? Refund for error? No, but if you are interested, you can watch Phillippe meet his creator in the clip below, which was posted on the show’s social media last night.
