Big WR Hakeem Butler is the choice of cardinals in the fourth round

When Hakeem Butler met the Cardinals and Kliff Kingsbury in scouting, the Iowa State radio receiver told Kingsbury that he wanted to play for Kingsbury at Texas Tech – but Kingsbury never offered a scholarship.

On Saturday morning, Kingsbury – speaking to Butler after the Cardinals made the first choice of the fourth round of 6-foot-5 and 227 pounds – released a mea culpa.

"He told me that he was not going to make the same mistake twice," Butler said.

Butler gives the Cardinals the big receiver they are looking for. At its peak, he has the ability to climb on the defensive back to catch him, which he has turned into a form of art for the Cyclones. Many have planned to go as high as the second round.

Butler acknowledged that he was a little disappointed that it lasted until 4, but "I'm just lucky, excited and delighted to be in this position, honestly."

The Cardinals have now beefed up a huge ballroom with two of their top five draft picks, adding a smaller speedster, Andy Isabella of UMass, with their second-round second-round pick. Both were perfectly in a unit with Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk.
