In the midst of his preliminary preparation, the Patriots coach Bill Belichick TD Garden stopped to take part in the second game of the Celtics-Pacers first-round playoff series.
A Bostonsportinging Events regular, Belichick, who turned 67 on Tuesday, was joined by his longtime girlfriend, Linda Holliday. The couple was sitting next to the co-owner of the Celtics Wyc Grousbeck and his wife, Emilia Fazzalari.
Between the first and second quarter, Belichick, dressed in jeans and a tailor's jacket over a light blue shirt with buttons, cracked a smile after being shown on the video board of the central court. Of course, he was acclaimed.
Wide receiver Julian Edelman, security Duron Harmon, security Devin McCourtyand the corner half Jason McCourty Edelman donned a black cap and garnered the biggest applause.
A group of young patriots, including seven members of the 2018 draft class, joined veterans: the linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentleywide receiver Braxton Berrios, corner half Keion Crossen, corner half Duc Dawson, tight end Ryan Izzo, return Sony Micheland offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn. Celtic legend Larry Bird, who was in the stands for match 1, came back for match 2 as well. Once again, he received a resounding ovation after appearing on the big screen in the second quarter.
