Over the years, Billie Eilish has been outspoken about her struggles with body image and on the internet when commenting on her appearance.

Now Eilish is opening up more to her body image struggles that started long before she was in the world spotlight. Plus, she reveals why her loved ones were more concerned about this tank top last year than it was.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Eilish really does bring a lot of things to light. In particular, the Grammy Award-winning singer talks more about her struggles with body image and those shameful comments that emerged last year.

In October, paparazzi captured photos of the “Therefore I Am” singer in a tank top and shorts. The images eventually spread online and drew criticism from body shamers. Eilish was quick to respond to criticism in a sneaky video showing her all Grammy Awards.

Ultimately, Eilish’s close friends and relatives were more concerned with the criticism than she was. Why? Well, it all had to do with his story of self-harm.

“I think the people around me were more worried than me because the reason I was cutting was because of my body,” she says. Vanity Fair. “To be completely honest with you, I only started wearing loose clothes because of my body.”

For Eilish, she is happy that the incident happened now rather than when she was younger.

“I was really, really happy, above all, to be in this place in my life, because if that had happened three years ago when I was in the middle of my horrible bodily relationship – or dancing a ton, five years ago, I wasn’t really eating, ”she continues. “I was starving to death.”

In the interview, she also remembers taking diet pills when she was just 12 years old.

“I remember taking a pill that told me it would make me lose weight and only pee in the bed – when I was 12, ” she says. “It’s just crazy. I can’t even believe, like me – wow. Yeah. I thought I would be the one dealing with my hate for my body, but I guess the internet hates my body too. So that’s awesome. “

In December, Eilish revealed how she turned this tank top photo into something positive for fans. While receiving unwanted reviews has been difficult, she is hopeful fans will see that everyone has different body types and that they should all be accepted.

“There’s this picture of me running from my car to my brother’s front door like a 110 degree day in a tank top,” she said. “And people were like, ‘Shit, Billie got fat!’ And I say to myself: “No, that’s how I look, you’ve never seen it before!”… I love having children in relationship with me and telling myself that I put them at ease in their body. If I can do something, I want to do it.

Earlier last year, Eilish shared a short video on body positivity during her WHEN ARE WE ALL ASLEEP WHERE ARE WE GOING? tower. Then, in May, Eilish released the full video for fans to watch. In it, Eilish throws off her baggy clothes while delivering a touching message about body positivity. She also talks about the double standards she faces on a daily basis.

“The body I was born with, isn’t that what you wanted?” If what I wear is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I throw away the diapers, I’m a bitch.

Elsewhere in the Vanity Fair interview, Eilish talks about her next album. She reveals that there isn’t a single thing she would change on the next album.

“[The album] feels exactly what I want, ”she says. “There isn’t a song, or part of a song, that I wish to be this or that I wish it to be that.”

Fans got another taste of his new music last week. After nearly two years of waiting, Eilish’s collaboration with Rosalía “Lo Vas A Olvidar” has finally arrived alongside a touching music video.

“Lo Vas A Olvidar” marks the first new music to arrive from Eilish in 2021. Last year she released a carefree video for “So I Am” which followed “No Time To Die” and “My Future” .

His collaboration with Rosalía kicks off what could be a great year for Eilish. In December, Eilish apparently confirmed that his next musical era was officially on the way. In addition, his next documentary The world is a little blurry is expected to arrive on February 26. Last month, viewers got their first glimpse of what to expect from the documentary in its first trailer.

Eilish spent a good chunk of 2020 working on her next album with her brother FINISHED. She previously revealed that she had no plans to release the LP during the coronavirus pandemic. However, she shared that fans shouldn’t expect to hear songs about the COVID-19 crisis on the new album.

“It’s not like we’re doing 40s songs, we’re just in a different mindset than we would be otherwise,” she said. “And that’s how it all goes. It’s the butterfly effect, it’s like you didn’t do this three years ago, maybe you won’t do it three years later. It’s just like that. At the same time, it’s the biggest time off I’ve ever had in my life, first of all. And especially since it all started five years ago.

Although her next album doesn’t have a release date yet, Eilish can’t wait for fans to finally hear it when the time is right.

“I’m really, really happy that we were able to make the things that we make,” she said. “And I can’t wait for you to hear that shit.” I can’t wait for the world to hear it. I am very enthusiastic and optimistic for the future. “
