Eight people died on Sunday afternoon, including a small child, after a plane caught fire and crashed into the building of San Donato Milanese in northern Italy, according to DW. The plane was piloted by Romanian billionaire Dan Petrescu, on board with his wife and son and five other passengers. The plane took off from Milan Linate airport and was heading for Olbia in Sardinia before crashing into the small town just over 10 km away. “The impact has been devastating,” said Carlo Cardinali, a Milan fire official. “So far we have only been able to find one body.” The National Agency for Flight Safety is investigating the accident and what may have caused it.

According to Malta timetables, Petrescu, 68, ran a large construction company and owned supermarkets and shopping malls, making him one of the richest men in Romania. Petrescu’s wife, 65, and son Dan Stefano, 30, were also killed in the crash.
