We don’t know who the Buffalo Bills will play on the Wild Card weekend right after Sunday’s 1 p.m. games, but now we know a few teams that Buffalo won’t face.
The Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns were eliminated as potential opponents of the Wild Card weekend following the results of today’s opening games. Both teams have been minding business and will be in the playoffs this season, but their weekend opener won’t be in western New York.
Buffalo’s opponents in the first round will be the Indianapolis Colts, the Tennessee Titans or the Miami Dolphins.
After a season sweep in Miami, including a resounding 30-point win in Week 17, Bills fans probably wouldn’t fear a third game. Ryan Fitzpatrick could drop off the Reserve / COVID-19 list if Miami makes the playoffs and the game is on Sunday.
Tennessee, meanwhile, have a shot at winning the division with a victory over the Houston Texans today. If that happens, Buffalo won’t see the Titans. The two teams met earlier this year and saw Tennessee beat Buffalo in a decisive fashion. A lot has changed since that game, but it is possibly the worst matchup for Buffalo among the remaining teams in the playoff photo.
The Colts are said to be the only team Buffalo hasn’t played among the weekend’s Wild Card opponents.
