Biomutant clarifies the release window

As you may have seen, it has already been reported that the upcoming video game Biomutant by THQ Nordic will be released before the end of the publisher’s fiscal year. If that were true, it would mean the long-gestating title would drop to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC by March 31 of this year. However, it would appear to be not, as an update to the original report via publisher clarification instead indicated that it will be released in the next fiscal year, which begins in April.

This all stems from last year’s annual report on the title released this fiscal year as well as a recent GamesIndustry.biz interview with THQ Nordic CEO Klemens Kreuzer. Kreuzer apparently initially claimed that Biomutant would publish this quarter, which apparently is not the case.

The video game, if you are not familiar, is described as “a post-apocalyptic open-world Kung-Fu fable RPG, with a unique martial arts-style combat system allowing you to mix melee action, shot and mutant. ” It was first announced in 2017 with several trailers and looks since then. While originally slated for release in 2018, it has been delayed several times.

Biomutant is slated for release sometime in 2021 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out all of our previous coverage of the upcoming video game here.
