Like in previous years, Black Friday started in early 2020 – no one waits until the day after Thanksgiving to start sales. Amazon got the ball rolling in October this year, and other retailers like Walmart will be running waves of staggered deals throughout November.
We’ve started listing the best deals below. Keep an eye out for other updates as the days go by.
Not sure what to expect this year, given the pandemic? Check out our Black Friday FAQs and tips on when to buy PC components.
Best tech deals from the start of Black Friday
When shopping this year, here are several things to keep in mind:
• Offers may expire before their scheduled end time if quantities run out, so don’t wait too long if something interests you. If no time is given, assume a window of 24 to 48 hours at most.
• To take advantage of Amazon’s Prime offers (and early access to some of the retailer’s limited-time Lightning offers), you can sign up for a 30-day Prime membership if you haven’t already done so in the past.
• Newegg has a new policy for Black Friday 2020: certain items are eligible for an automatic refund if the price drops further by the end of the month.
• Do you use PayPal for online purchases? Sign up for the company’s free returns program, which bills for return shipping for up to 12 purchases.
• The vacation return windows have just widened (many are coming in early January), so you can buy now and repent at your leisure, assuming you can float the cash.
