This story is part of Holiday gift guide 2020, CNET’s Gift Picks with expert advice, reviews and recommendations for the latest tech gifts for you and your family.

Black friday the offers are ongoing and they will blend directly into Cyber monday sales this weekend. But whatever your name is, this is the best time of year to buy a TV (or almost anything else). Walmart, Best buy, Target and Amazon accelerate TV Black Friday sales, with small models as low as $ 100 and 65 inches barely $ 250. Discounted brands include Sony, Samsung, Vizio, LG, TCL, and Hisense, along with everything in between. And, of course, they’re all smart TVs, many of which use Android TV, Roku, or Amazon Fire TV operating systems.

Since sales started early, most of the best deals have sold out or gone online, but we’ll keep checking back in case they come back. In the meantime, you will probably see a lot of “offers” that aren’t that good. If you’re looking for a cheap TV, here’s a quick cheat sheet.

What is the right price for a cheap Black Friday TV in 2020?

  • 32 inches for $ 120
  • 40 to 43 inches for 150 $
  • 50 inches for $ 300
  • 55 inches for $ 350
  • 65 inches for $ 500
  • 75 inches for $ 700

The prices above are approximate for TVs that we don’t usually check at CNET because their picture quality is basically the same: poor, but maybe good enough for most people. Expect to pay hundreds more for best televisions.

Our favorite TV deals are curated below and we’re constantly updating the list. Note that these offers are constantly evolving and this article is regularly updated to reflect new, higher quality offers and expired discounts.

This slightly larger Insignia recently sold for $ 150, but Best Buy slashed the price by another $ 10.

Best buy

TCL is best known for its Roku TVs, and we like the Roku smart TV system better than the Android TV version of this TV, but for that price you can just buy a Roku Streaming Stick Plus, attach it to this TV, and still go out in front. Intelligence aside, we’d expect this Series 4 TV to perform “fairly well,” just like the Roku equivalent.

Samsung

Also as part of Walmart’s November 25 sale, this TV is now available at Best Buy for the same price. It’s not the cheapest TV on the market at this size, and we’d expect models like the Vizio M-Series (which has local dimming) to perform better, but if you like the Samsung brand , this is a very good price.

We haven’t yet reviewed Vizio’s first OLED TV – the company shipped samples late due to COVID-19 – but Vizio TVs have performed well in previous reviews and that price, compared to something like the LG CX below, might be too good to pass up.

There’s also a 65-inch waistline on sale for $ 1,500.

Sony

We haven’t reviewed this OLED, but we expect its image quality to be similar to the LG CX below (as in: spectacular), and at Best Buy the 65in size is currently on sale unless the CX. . However, we would still take the CX, mainly because the Sony lacks cutting edge gaming extras. But if that doesn’t matter to you – or if the CX is out of stock – it’s a great deal.

The best upcoming Black Friday deals

The following offers are not yet available, but will be available soon. Patience, Padawan treats.

Best buy

This is quite simply the best deal we have ever seen for Black Friday 2020. Slightly smaller than the 70 inch model and many cheaper, this TV will sell out fast once it shows up. The trap? We don’t know exactly when it’ll be in stock, so if you’re interested, check the Best Buy page often.

Black Friday offers sold out or expired

The deals below are mostly gone, but since they could come back at any time, we’re keeping them here for now. Some of the televisions below may also be available in stores in your area, although they are sold out online.

Amazon

That’s a spectacular price tag on a 50-inch TV, so expect it to sell out almost immediately.

Best buy

We haven’t reviewed this set, and based on its specs, we don’t expect it to match the image quality of the best 75in models, but if you prioritize a view Overall over everything else, it’s the cheapest price we’ve seen for a 70-inch TV, period. Like the TCL, it runs Android TV.

Sarah Tew / CNET

One of our favorite pre-Black Friday deals on great TV is back. The X900H has the best picture quality of any TV on this list that isn’t an OLED, and includes cutting edge connectivity custom-designed for the new Xbox Series X and PS5.

Target

The best TV deal from Target’s first Black Friday sale is for another 70-inch TV that we haven’t reviewed. LG’s OLED sets (see below) will deliver a much better picture, but if you can’t afford a better TV and you don’t like the Hisense above, it’s still a great price.

This offer is currently out of stock online but may be available at your local store.

Sarah Tew / CNET

We’ve seen 70-inch TVs go down to $ 400, but it’s still a pretty good price on a gigantic TV. This model (V705x-H1) is very similar to the V705-H3, which currently sells for $ 660. The V-Series is Vizio’s cheapest TV for 2020, and while we haven’t reviewed it, we do expect entry-level picture quality: good enough for most people, but not. as good as anything like the M series.

David Katzmaier / CNET

The best TV we’ve ever reviewed is in a whole different league from Doors on this list, and it’s the best price of the year. We don’t expect the price to drop too much this year, but even if it does, the price drop won’t be massive. Read our LG CX series review.

Richard Peterson / CNET

This 55 inch above is great, but if you can afford it, get this 65 inch instead. It’s the perfect size for the LG CX – it’s big enough to really appreciate its stellar picture quality. Read our LG CX series review.

Walmart

This TV is the first item listed in the Walmart ad on November 11 before Black Friday, so we expected it to sell out quickly. The retailer’s Onn house brand is not known for its exceptional image quality, but we expect it to perform as well as the TCL 4 series (see below) and have the same excellent Roku operating system.

Speaking of TCL, it’s the best price we’ve seen on a 55-inch TV this year. It’s basically the same as the 55S425 we loved so much, for about half the lowest price of this model ever. Much like Onn TV above, we expect it to sell out quickly.
