Call of Duty: Cold War Black Ops got his Firebase Z card on Thursday, and after an exciting Easter egg hunt, his biggest secret has finally been solved. With the help of the best and brightest members of the Zombies community, we’re here to provide you with a step-by-step guide to solving each puzzle. If you want to see that final cutscene, this walkthrough reveals everything you need to do.
Before moving on to the Easter egg stages, it should be noted that there are a few basic tasks you need to complete first. As usual, Power and Pack-a-Punch should be activated and the Wonder weapon should be picked up. You can get all of these details in our RAI K-84 and Pack-a-Punch guide if you need to.
Second, for those who need video assistance alongside our text, check out this awesome guide from MrRoflWaffles on YouTube. If his work helps you, it doesn’t hurt to subscribe. As these people were among the first to discover the stages, we also found the Call of Duty The Zombies subreddit thread is also helpful. If at any point our description fails, these additional sources will likely make our point a little clearer. With these disclaimers, let’s start hunting.
Cold War Black Ops Firebase Z Easter Egg Stages
- Once the feed, Pack-a-Punch, and RAI K-84 are ready, speak to Ravanov in the Atrium region. He will send you to speak with Dr. Peck, who is behind the large window in the mission control area. Peck sends you back to Ravanov, who eventually hands you the Ravanov ID badge.
- The card is used to open three lockers. To get the first one, enter the courtyard and go to the equipment storage area. It is right in front of Ravanov. You will find the S16 compound inside the locker with the keypad on it.
- To get to the next locker, go from the Military Command Control Room to the Colonel’s Office. You will see another locker next to the desk. This has the compound P65.
- The third locker is inside a building in the Engineering section. Compound 36 is inside.
- From the barracks, enter the field hospital. Use the Agent Delivery System machine next to the small computer to mix the chemicals you have collected.
- Once the machine starts spinning, a group of enemies will appear. Kill them, return to the machine, and you can pick it up and take it with you.
- Bring it to the rooftop air conditioning unit in the OPC area You will know you are in the right place when you have the opportunity to ‘connect agent delivery system’.
- Return to Dr. Peck and interact with him.
- Head to the data center and interact with the machine against the wall which has a screen with a brain displayed on it. Eventually, Peck will speak and you will be given the option to unlock the Memory Transfer Station. This provides access to four gas traps.
- These gas traps work like Pokéballs in Pokemon. Your objective is to find three mimic zombies in specific locations, reduce their health, and trap them inside. Imitations appear from objects. So, to find the zombie you’re looking for, you have to find areas with a lot of small items on the ground – but only one of them spawns a zombie. When this happens, you will know that a zombie is the one for you to kill. So far, players have had the best luck finding Mimics in Peck’s quarters in the village, Barracks Motor Pool, and the Colonel’s office at Military Command. However, there are other possible locations beyond these. Your objective is to catch a Lone Mimic, put the trap back in the machine, and hope you get a quote from Sokolov, Brahms or Zabim. Do this three times and you are done with the step. If the memory is corrupted, you can try as many times as you want.
- Once all three correct expressions are found, a floppy disk will appear outside of the memory machine. Grab it. Travel from the OPC to the planning desks and drop it into the Quantum Main Frame machine with the brain on it.
- Go back to the OPC and you will see that a new portal area has opened. Once you see him, talk to Peck. You will receive a code which will open the locker next to it. When you open it, the ethermeter will fall to the ground.
- The next step is to find three Ether containers on the map which can be done in any order. To dig them up, take the shovel found inside the hut in the burnt defense area.
- Our first container is in the Jungle Defense area, where you’ll find bits of dirt all around. Use the sound signal to find the search point. The closer it gets, the closer you get to the location. Once you unearth it, fight during the lockdown period that begins. Pick up the Ether Container when it is safe to do so.
- The following container is located in the corner of the Open Lot area next to the OPC. You can again use beeps to find it. A bunch of containers will appear. You have to find the one that doesn’t have black smoke inside. Once you find it, this is the one you need to interact with to get it back.
- For the last aether container, go to the Barracks area via the stairs that connect to the data center. Once you dig, the container will warp in different places if you get too close. To prevent this, shoot it with the RAI K-84’s alternate grenade fire mode. It will only stay still while the grenade is active.
- Go to the three Ether Reactors you used to ignite the power supply and place the containers in them. They are located at the data center, mission control and military command.
- Go to OPC and then Peck and you will find that it is no longer accessible. Go to the planning offices and use the computer there. On the screen, you will see a galactic map which can be controlled via the d-pad. Go through all of the bright spots (including the earth below) until you find the one that displays a “?” Interact when you’ve found the right place.
- When everything is done, return to the OPC and interact with the terminals on the right. This kicks off the boss fight, so make sure you’re prepared.
Firebase Z Boss Fight
Orda is your primary target, but take down the threats around them first. Wait for your team to announce the exact time to do damage, then unload with whatever you have until Orda’s health runs out. Luckily, the Perks and the Pack-a-Punch nearby should give you the extra firepower you need. That’s all you need to know about the Firebase Z Easter Egg in Call of Duty: Cold War Black Ops.
Call of Duty: Cold War Black Ops is now available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC.
