Black Ops Cold War – How to Fix Disconnect PS5 & Dualshock Download Bug – TheSixthAxis

[ad_1]

Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War appears to have some interesting “ features ” that have never been listed. It disconnects the PS4 Dualshock controllers during a game, and some people can’t even download the PlayStation 5 version, it just gets stuck in their queue and / or downloads the PlayStation 4 version instead.

Let’s start with the PS5 download bug which unfortunately has a fix at the moment and you’re not going to like it. You need to perform a full factory reset on the console, which will erase all the games and updates you have installed.

To do a factory reset on your PlayStation 5, you need to go to the gear icon at the top right of the home screen which takes you to the System Settings page. From there, head to the System section, select Reset options then Reset your console. At this point you will need to confirm that you are going to erase everything from your console.

As this is a huge bug Activision should fix it very quickly, you might want to wait a day or two rather than having to reinstall all of your PS5 games.

Let’s move on to the PlayStation 4 players who reported that the Dualshock controller starts flashing and disconnects. This appears to be happening at the start of the third campaign mission, but there are also reports of the foul occurring during multiplayer and zombie matches. There is a fix but again it’s not a good one you have to plug the controller into the console with a USB cable and play with it connected rather than wirelessly.

Insert the cable into your controller, connect it to the PS4, then go to Settings> Peripherals> Controllers and in that menu choose Communication Method and change it to “Use USB Cable”. This should fix you up, again this is a pretty huge bug, so hopefully Treyarch is on the job and will release a fix soon.
