Marvel Studios updated its Disney + intro in honor of the ending Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman’s birthday.
The actor, who played T’Challa in MCU releases such as Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame in addition to the standalone superhero movie, died of colon cancer on August 28, 2020. He would have been 44 today (November 29).

Marvel’s opening titles for the MCU typically feature some of its greatest characters, from Cap and Iron Man to Doctor Strange, Hulk, and Black Widow. However, this new version only contains images of Boseman, both on-screen and off-screen.
“First, Marvel did their intro at Marvel Studios in honor and in memory of Stan Lee and now for Chadwick Boseman,” one fan wrote on Twitter, reacting to the new intro. “I believe this is the real honor and respect for those who are no longer with us.”
Since news of his tragic passing was shared by his family on their official social media account earlier this year, some Marvel fans have wondered what the future of the Black Panther series – which is already loved by so many people – will look like.

It didn’t take long for the studio to confirm that they wouldn’t use a “digital double”, explaining that “there is only one Chadwick and he is not with us”.
It has also been reported that filming for the highly anticipated sequel to the original film will begin in July 2021, with Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett likely returning.
It has been heavily speculated that Wright’s Shuri, tech-savvy T’Challa’s younger sister, will play a bigger role in the future.
