The black teenager who has been falsely accused of stealing a woman’s phone now needs therapy because the incident has left his mark on him … this according to his parents.
Keyon Harrold told TMZ … him and his ex-wife, Kat, are currently examining therapists and looking to get their son – 14 years old Keyon Jr. – soon in trauma therapy. Keyon (the father) tells us that his son is severely traumatized … and that a lot has to do with Miya Ponsetto immediately focusing on him.
Keyon Jr. asked his father a simple question that uncovers a lot of serious issues, including self-doubt … “Why me?”
NYPD Detectives
Keyon says he raised his son to be a proud, black man, saying, “I tried to instill dignity in my son. I’ve been trying to build his ego, because for so long black men’s egos have been shattered. “
Keyon believes that without professional help, his mission could be torpedoed by Ponsetto’s vicious attack on his son. His father tells us, “He wonders if he’s good enough to own an iPhone, or if he’s out of place in a nice hotel.” That, Keyon says, needs to be nipped in the bud immediately.

There is also a practical problem. Both parents are musicians and travel a lot, which means they stay at the hotel quite often. Keyon says his son is now afraid to go to hotels. Keyon Jr. told his dad he was afraid someone would come from behind and attack him. He is also afraid of being charged with a crime. In fact, he told his father on the day of the incident that he felt like a criminal.

Keyon manipulates it in broad strokes … “You definitely belong, wherever you go.”
By the way … long before the incident, Keyon and his son spoke about social justice issues and the tragedies of Emmett Till, Michael brown, George floyd, And so on.
Ending on a nice note … at the time of this article, Keyon Jr. is in a studio with his dad and a few friends recording music. Jr. is a drummer / producer / songwriter. But, when daddy spoke to us on the phone, his son was redoing J. Cole“Be free”.
