After meeting several candidates, the studio turned to Pugh again after writing critical reviews for MGM's comedy drama "Fighting With My Family."

Cate Shortland is on board to lead, with Jac Schaeffer penning the script. The film has been in development for some time, but accelerated last year after hiring Schaeffer. Kevin Feige produces the photo.

It's unclear if "Black Widow" will be an original tale or will take place after the next movie "Avengers".

Fans of the character push her to get her own movie since her first appearance in "Iron Man 2" in 2010. While the last phase of Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming to an end, the studio has seen the perfect time to move on . transmit with the project.

As for Pugh, his star is on the rise after a big year including the limited series of AMC's "The Little Drummer Girl" and the "Outlaw King" epic of Netflix. It is taken over by Curtis Brown and WME.
