Blake Shelton backs his controversial new song Minimum Wage, after facing a barrage of backlash and being accused of being “deaf.”

The 44-year-old country star’s song lyric in question is, “Girl, I look at you like this / Can make a man feel rich on minimum wage.”

Many people criticized the song because of the lyrics sung by Blake, which is said to be worth around $ 100 million, during the COVID-19 pandemic with many Americans out of work and countless businesses closed.

Speaking to CMT Shelton, said: ‘We are now at a point where it does not even deserve an answer. This is why I did not go out at the start and I did not say anything, because they are not entitled to an answer from me. It is absolutely ridiculous.

“They just want to hear what they want to hear and they want to fight.

“ Whatever your intention, whatever the truth, they want it to be something that they can be upset about so that they can go on social media and try to make headlines. ”

He continued, “ Wow I guess I just missed something here. Regardless of that reaction, there are only four or five people who probably don’t know anything about country music.
