OAKLAND, Calif. – Portland Trail Blazers goaltender Rodney Hood was allowed to play in the first game of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday, just two days after suffering a left knee bruise.

Hood was injured in the third quarter of Sunday's Portland 7 win in Denver, falling awkwardly after Nuggets goaltender Torrey Craig put it on a back-end screen.

"I'm solid," Hood said after warming up. "There is still pain, it's just something that I'm going to have to manage and manage."

Hood did not resume Sunday's game and the Trail Blazers originally qualified the hyper-extended left knee injury. An MRI revealed a bone contusion and Hood was classified as suspect for the first game against the Golden State Warriors.

Hood, which had been acquired mid-season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, played a crucial role in the win in the semifinal of the Western Conference in Portland. He averaged 14.7 points per game on 57.6% of the vote, highlighted by a 25 point performance in the Blazers Game 6 win in Portland.
