@naruball I used to feel the same way, until I found out I was playing fighting games badly all my life, lol. It feels more like an intense real-time game of chess when you really get down to it. Maybe watch some YouTube videos like this series called “Think, Don’t Mix!”
The genre gets pretty complex, IMHO, once you get into the frame data and matches. This aspect is much more accessible these days with in-game frame data for many games, like NRS games and Tekken 7 (via DLC … stupid, but at least it’s there). 100% the most rewarding genre I have ever played, and everything I play now. Give it another shot!
