Bloodborne producer Masaaki Yamagiwa leaves Sony

Today on Twitter, producer Masaaki Yamagiwa has announced that he is leaving Tokyo-based Sony’s Japan Studio. He did not leave the video game industry, however.

At Sony, Yamagiwa produced Bloodborne, Bloodborne The Old Hunters, Uprooted, and Tokyo jungle.

This is Japan Studio’s second high-profile departure in recent months. In December, Keiichiro Toyama, creator of Mermaid and Gravity rush, revealed that he left the company to start his own business, Bokeh Game Studio. Toyama was joined by Kazunobu Sato, who designed Puppeteer and was a producer on The Last Guardian, as well as Junya Okura, who worked as a designer on Gravity rush.
