BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé Officially Teased, Reveal Set For June

[ad_1]

It's been a few months since we saw the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé for the last time in spy photos. This time, we are not dealing with spy shots. The teaser above comes straight from BMW, suggesting an official revelation for the four doors could soon arrive. In fact, BMW then issued a press release in which it was announced that the film would be unveiled at the NextGen event of the automaker in Munich at the end of June.

We improved the photos a bit to see if there was something hidden in the shadows, but BMW is careful in this area. Even with the brightness exploded, we still see the same silhouette in the photo above. It's good; Over the past year, we have caught many spy photos of the next big Bimmer. Although camouflage masks some details, we have a general idea.

From pillar A, it's the coupe of the pure 8 series as we know it today. Beyond, the roof extends a little, but despite the presence of two additional doors, the elegant shape of the coupe is well preserved. The rear quarter panels are unique to the Gran Coupé, but surprisingly, the rear fairing looks pretty identical to that of the two-door, despite the interior differences.

On the domestic front, the Gran Coupé should offer a chic and familiar layout with many amenities for the driver and passengers. At launch, electricity will come from the 4.4-liter V8 bi-turbo, developing 523 horsepower (390 kilowatts), but diesel will likely also be offered in the Euro markets. We also saw the M variant jumped up guard, probably racing a mill of more than 600 hp (447 kW) similar to the incredibly fast BMW M5. This car, however, is probably still in a year.

The BMW NextGen event will take place from June 24 to 27 at the BMW Welt in Munich. The sales will begin in September.
