Disney CEO Bob Iger has resigned from Apple's board of directors, according to a statement filed by the SEC on Friday.
Iger's resignation was official on September 10, the day Apple announced the release date and rates for its new streaming service, Apple TV +, which will increasingly compete and compete with the new service. Disney's Disney + streaming channel, which will begin November 12th.
To date, neither the shares of Disney nor those of Apple have been affected by this announcement.
The relationship between Apple and Disney goes back to the days when Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, became director of Disney. Apple TV + will be in direct competition with Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now and Amazon Prime in its November 1 debut. The service will cost $ 4.99 per month. Apple has just announced that the new Apple TV + service will be free for one year to customers who buy an iPad, an iPhone, an Apple TV or a Mac computer.
Apple has spent millions of dollars to secure exclusive content, but will begin to compete with Disney + streaming service starting November 12.
Disney + will cost subscribers $ 6.99 a month or $ 69.99 a year.
