Bob Newhart reminded viewers – and Ben Stiller – that he was still alive.
Stiller took the stage at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night to announce the winner of best supporting role in a humorous series by paying tribute to late comedians – Lucille Ball and George Burns – with wax statues of the couple.
The camera then turned to frozen Newhart pretending to be a statue as Stiller continued his routine.

"I'm still alive," Newhart told Stiller, who introduced it as part of the comedy hall of fame.
"You put me with George and Lucy and it's weird," he says. "As if I were in a strange museum of comedy."
"It's more like comedy legends," Stiller said. "Alive, dead …"

But Newhart replied, "This legend is going to kick your ass, so you'll know I'm alive … you thought I was dead!"
Later, he tells Stiller: "I hated you, in" Tropic Thunder "."
Newhart, who celebrated his 90th birthday earlier this month, told Closer Weekly that he was not planning to retire.
"I always say," What are you going to say to people, "I'm really tired of making people laugh?" "It's a wonderful thing to do. You go out and have a good show, and you and the audience are happy for about an hour. People forget their problems, get up and dust themselves off. How could you hate that? I do not think I will stop playing. It's in my blood. "

"I did just about everything I thought or did not even think I would do," continued Newhart. "To make people laugh is all that matters to me."
